I operate a not-for-profit solidarity pricing model and funds not drawn on go back into supporting pregnant people who need independent midwifery support and feirce advocacy, but are unable to afford me.
The cost of IMs in the UK is high at the moment, mostly because of insurance overheads. I know that IM care is hard to afford for many families who need it most, but my flat fee is designed so that you know that you will never have to take decisions based on extra costs, if you need more or different care as you go. I’ve got you.
I only offer full-spectrum relational based care. I work with 8 families or less a year as my model of practice is intensive and holistic, to wrap you in nurturing support as a highly skilled clinician who will coordinate all your wider care needs.
I usually provide over a hundred hours of contact with most families and the only things dictating the amount and frequency of your care from me, are your wishes and needs.
If you want a midwife for just a specific number of appointments and will fund other costs yourself, or if you want stand alone birth, antenatal and/or postnatal cre please use the Zest directory here. Also please feel free to email or text me if you would like recommendations and/or a discussion about what you want.
There are many fabulous Independent Midwives and Doulas in our community and I am very happy to help you find the people who are right for you!
The cost for a full antenatal, birth and postnatal package is £9250. I offer interest free payment plans, over a period which works for your family, for up to 24 months. This price covers everything you may want or need such as:
24/7 support throughout and limitless appointments as you wish, at a time that suits you and for as long as you need. My midwifery care for you is entirely separate from NHS services. You do not need to book with a hospital for midwifery and routine scan and testing if you do not wish to, the cost covers everything.
Daily postnatal health checks and emotional support for the first week and more and continuing fourth trimester regular visits for ‘doing the 40’, as it suits you.
I have a PhD in breastfeeding so full support there! I also offer affirming baby-led formula feeding support, whatever is right for your family, is right. I also have experience using the Newman-Goldfarb protocol to induce lactation for not pregnant parents who also want to breast or chest feed.
Ongoing access support, logistical planning and assertive advocacy if you want to engage with NHS services.
Limiteless and timely support for any questions or issues that arise throughout your pregnancy and immediate care when you need it.
All routine blood tests, taken at your home including NIPT.
Routine and reassurance scans at a diagnostic clinic of your choice.
Hypnobirthing self-directed course tailored to you if you enjoy meditation!
Pregnancy physiotherapy or body work with my local colleagues for things like pelvic and nerve pain.
Birth trauma therapy of all kinds if you need this, with highly qualified colleagues to support your family to go into this birth with calm, confidence and power.
Extensive birth and beyond planning, iteratively discussed through your antenatal care and a written birth plan, if you would like one.
Me and another highly experienced midwife (or a doula if you wish) at your home birth, fully insured and with all the skills and equipment that you might need.
A birth pool for your home birth (regular sized Birth Pool In a Box - they are super comfy!). All the gas and air and other pain relief options you want. All my practice is directed towards creating the optimal emotional and psychological conditions for a physiological, undisturbed birth for you all.
If you wish to give birth in a unit/hospital I will be there with you throughout, from going in, being on the labour ward and in those first few golden hours. I will provide daily visits and 24/7 phone and in person advocacy if you have a postnatal stay.
Early labour intensive support at your home and I will come when you wish me to, regardless of ‘progress’ in the latent phase. If you are planning on a unit birth, I will offer to come and support you in early labour at home, during transfer and throughout your birth.
After birth in a unit I will offer to come home with you from hospital to help you and your new baby settle in and enjoy relaxed and joyful time all together.
Home based parenting prep including support for effective co-sleeping, if this is your choice. Inclusive support for all your important people in the emotional and physical transition to parenting and having a new human in the family!
NIPE check for the and routine screening for the baby and tongue-tie referral if needed.
Ongoing advice and support with caring for your new baby and full monitoring of their health and wellbeing so you can get on with the most important job of all - bonding with your baby.
Whatever care you need, however many appointments, I will be there. As a very experienced midwife I can completely attend your birth at home, with a second midwife or doula who you will have the chance to get to know. If you want to give birth in hospital then I will be there with you as an extremely effective advocate, guide and loving birth supporter, but due to NHS rules I will not be able to provide direct clinical care whilst in most hospitals.
If you also want obstetric care then I will facilitate multi-disciplinary care planning with clinicians I know and trust to help you navigate birth arrangements, make referrals and accompany you to appointments.
Notes are all online and will be accessible to you, always. I am always happy to print out notes as we go along if you’re a paper person!
